Title: System Engineer (Mid-Sr. Level)

We are seeking a Sr./Mid-Level System Engineer to join our clients team. They are a Sacramento based MSP in business for over 16 years serving Small and Medium sized businesses across the nation. They provide a plethora of growth opportunity dependent on where your passions lie. This is a permanent, full-time role working direct for client who we can disclose after an initial discussion.

Our client seeks a well-versed, passionate infrastructure expert who is customer centric first. This role requires a minimum of 3-Years in a Sr. Support role. We seek the professional who is not only technical, but someone who is easy to talk to, a joy to work with and enjoys working with customers.

You will be responsible for:

  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting advanced technical hardware and software issues
  • Advising  staff, management, and clients on technical issues
  • Working with vendors/partners when resolving software/hardware issues
  • Providing onsite and remote technical assistance to clients – mainly remote
  • Logging all customer interactions on our ticketing system – following SOP’s
  • Serving as an escalation point for urgent needs
  • Managing and documenting desktop systems and server configurations
  • Testing, and verifying proper functioning of software patches and fixes
  • Desire and drive to learn
  • Troubleshooting advanced infrastructure issues.
  • Planning the installation and implementation of new hardware and software
  • Diagnosing system emergencies when they arise and persevere to resolution
  • Performing routine travel and other tasks as required


Advanced knowledge of these networking concepts:

  • Setting up and troubleshooting firewalls, configuring rules, and site-to-site VPNs
  • IP addressing, subnet masks, and VLANs
  • Windows Server 2008, 2012 and up
  • VMWare or Hyper-V
  • Active Directory, DNS, DHCP
  • Exchange 2010 and up + Office365 including migrations from On-Prem to O365
  • SonicWALL Firewall; Site to Site VPN tunnels; SSL VPN Setup
  • Datto / Back-Up Disaster-Recovery Solutions
  • Wireless/WAN Technologies
  • Windows 7, 8 & 10
  • Microsoft Printer Deployment Technologies
  • Experience with troubleshooting server issues; performance, slowness, lockups, etc when everybody else’s resources have been surpassed
  • Login Scripts, Group Policies and Security Groups
  • Advanced network troubleshooting
  • Understanding of Scripting (CMD, Powershell)
  • RMM Platform (Continuum)
  • ConnectWise
